Research subject   We might agree that war is wrong. However, this does not deny the importance and necessity of investigation on the issues surrounding war and peace from a moral point of view. Indeed, it is imperative to examine ethical issues on war seriously, because we wish for peace. My research interest covers international/global ethics, ethics of war, military ethics, just war theory, and professional ethics. I am particularly interested in ethics of civilian protection in armed conflict.

Research subject   My research has been focused on the topic of fate and free will in Hellenistic and Roman philosophy. My ambition is to contribute something, through the study of ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, to the reconstruction of the history of Western thought and also to the reorganization of ethical theory.
